This new PV array install was located in Penryn CA, and completed by ES Electrical & Solar
(https://eselectricsolar.com/) on a corrugated metal roof that had better sun exposure than the
main roof of the adjoining home. The Straddle Block with Ultra L-Foot was ideal here to install a
SnapNrack UR40 Rail system, and then attach the IQ8PLUS micro inverters and Enphase Q-
Cables. The finished installation was composed of 15 Q-Peak Duo 400W G8+ solar modules, for
a 6000W DC PV Array.
SnapNrack Straddle Blocks allow installation on many S-Style and trapezoidal-style corrugated
roof surfaces, allowing wood lag screws or metal TEK screws to be attached to the underlying
structural rafters or purlins. Since the penetrations are located on the high side of the metal
corrugations, they are not located at the bottom of the channel where there is a risk of water
leakage. Sealants applied correctly ensure that the penetration is waterproof.
