AEE Solar has facilities in San Luis Obispo, Redway and Sacramento. This position will be based in Sacramento, California.
Function:
Senior Executive responsible for all sales activities. Provide leadership and focus in the development and management of a high growth business with a passionate vision, and successfully meet financial and business objectives. Director of Sales is member of company management team reporting to company Chief Operating Officer.
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develops and implements strategies and budget to meet or exceed revenue/sales targets, service level, and quality assurance.
- Leads a highly customer-oriented team with passion for our products and dedication for the sales staff.
- Ensures effective control of sales results and marketing strategies, while taking corrective action to guarantee that achievement of sales and marketing objectives falls within designated budgets. Overlapping with marketing a bit but they go hand in hand.
- Adjusts sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions while overseeing and implementing sales strategies.
- Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
- Manages weekly, monthly, and year to date sales and analysis reporting presented to executive management.
- Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Oversee the development, implementation and continual improvement of processes and procedures to provide timely, cost-effective and efficient sales and service .
- Define strategic program for Business Customers and Wholesale Market.
- Interface with executive team members to ensure compliance with company wide goals and objectives.
- Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs to achieve company goals.
- Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
- Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
- Provides input on product research and development.
Attributes of an ideal candidate
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in sales, marketing and/or business, ideally an MBA.
- Minimum of 10 years sales business experience, 5 years as a sales manager or director level in a multi level sales force role preferably with direct experience of renewable energy, electrical products or building related products.
- Thorough knowledge of sales strategies and practices.
- Experience in developing, motivating and managing people in matrix organization.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Experience in managing a minimum of 30 direct or indirect reports, combined with direct revenue responsibility of >100 million.
- Must be a self starter and work with little or no supervision.
- Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.
- Willingness to travel 45-65 percent and cope with the challenge of this position in a high-growth environment.
- Ability to interface with all levels of personnel and to accept different personalities.
