We are looking for a Director of Marketing, this a full time position reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. In this high-energy, fast-paced position, the Controller will be responsible for the following:
Education:
An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in business. An MBA is highly desirable, however, proven ability and relevant experience will be the deciding factors.
Experience:
Minimum of ten years business experience with a minimum of five years in a project/product management role is required, preferably with renewable energy products. Must demonstrate effective and diplomatic verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, plus a thorough knowledge of sales strategies and practices. Must be experienced in developing, motivating, and managing people in a matrix organization, a self-starter, and work effectively with schedules and reporting. Must have experience with trade shows and training experience is a definite plus. Experience working with Oracle databases desirable.
Function:
Develops overall market evaluation and implementation programs. Coordinates the development and execution of marketing and sales objectives, strategies, advertising, and promotional programs and is integral to the conception/quantification/specification of new products and options.
Responsibilities:
- The role/responsibility of the Director of Marketing is initially to evaluate the market/industry, the customer base, the areas of potential sales opportunities, and the competition.
- Prepare short- and long-range strategic marketing plans which address existing and new marketing opportunities, new channels and methods of distribution, and new product introductions, as well as existing products and markets.
- Ensure the company is constantly aware of the competitive market performance standards and pricing policies, as both competitive analysis and pricing are key to the role.
- Design and implement new and innovative advertising and mailing campaigns, including establishing the professional image for the company.
- Work closely with all members of the management team, as this position is an important force in determining the future direction of the company.
- Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, purchasing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide production definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
- Provide financial and technical justification for product selection and definition.
- Direct market development, sales promotion, advertising, public relations, competitive analysis, distribution and pricing policies.
- Analyze market trends and potentials. Prepare sales forecasts for use in planning manufacturing operations and for controlling inventories.
- Develop methods for field-testing of new product programs to determine public acceptance. Evaluate the effectiveness of promotion and advertising programs and recommend improvements or changes.
- Develop brand strategy.
- Provide weekly and monthly status/activity reporting.
- Assist the sales organization on calls/proposals.
- Assist in the preparation of advertising for the products represented and may supervise such activities as market research. Also, develop and suggest ideas for new products.

Physical - typing on a keyboard, data entry, filing, may require lifting heavy boxes Visual - reading and or research on a computer screen Audio - inbound and outbound telephone calls, noise from the warehouse (office is located in a warehouse)

Additional Comments
Incumbent must be a self-starter and work with little or no supervision. This position requires knowledge of analytical research methods, precise calculations, and the ability to “think outside of the box”, as well being prepared for continual change.
Compensation will be based on experience.
