3 choices needed to order the correct components for your SnapNrack mounting system
Rails – based on the number of modules to install
The simplicity of the SnapNrack mounting system is based in its use of just two standard lengths of rail. The 122-inch rail set accommodates a single row of 3 modules in the 200-watt range. The 162-inch rail set will accommodate four modules in the 200-watt range. When cut in half the two rail sets will accommodate half the number of modules they were initially designed for. Use these principles plus the proper number of splice kits and any number of modules can be installed in a single row. See the table below for some examples.
Components for fastening the rail to the roof or the ground
SnapNrack offers several options for roof and ground mount attachment. The roof attachment components should be chosen based on the roofing material. See the installation manual and/or consult your sales representative for more information. See the ground mount manual for ground mount examples.
Clamp sets for fastening the PV modules to the rail
Choose your clamps based, first, on the module frame thickness and then on the quantity of modules to install. SnapNrack clamps are available individually, in bulk packs, and in a 3-module clamp set. For each row of modules we suggest you buy a 3-module clamp set plus two additional mid clamps for each additional module in the row. You can also buy the bulk end clamps and mid clamps. See the examples below.
Example 1:
- Evergreen ES-A-200 modules have a 1.8-inch thick frame.
- Eight ES-A-200 modules require a 1.8-inch 3-module set (item code 015-09929) and ten mid clamps (item code 015-09903; OR one 12-pack item code 015-09904).
Example 2:
- REC 210-230 modules have a 1.69-inch thick frame.
- Seven REC 215 modules require a 1.69-inch 3-module set and eight mid clamps.
