Becoming an AEE Solar Dealer

We are currently accepting applications from qualified renewable energy dealers, contractors, integrators and installers. We believe we have the best solar dealer package in the industry. To learn more, see what makes AEE Solar "the hottest team in the solar business."

Why our application is not short and simple...

Selling, designing and installing a solar power system is a serious undertaking, and thus selecting, training and supporting solar dealers and installers is a responsibility we take seriously.

We ask your patience with our application and qualification procedure. It typically takes 10 days to two weeks to process an application, and we approve approximately half of those submitted. If you need faster processing because you are ready to place an immediate order, please note that in your application and we will do our best to process your application more quickly.

Also, we do our best to fast-track approvals for highly qualified dealers who are already in the solar installation business and established contractors with electrical background.

Here's what you need to know before deciding to apply...

Your understanding of the following facts is critical to your acceptance and success as an authorized AEE Solar dealer:

  • It’s solar electricity, so basic knowledge and experience with electrical systems is essential.
  • We require all dealer applicants without extensive solar experience or NABCEP certification to complete both the basic and advanced PV training courses with Solar Energy International or a comparable accredited school prior to becoming an authorized AEE Solar dealer.
  • We do accept electrical and HVAC contractors prior to completion of training, but we strongly advise you nonetheless to complete both basic and advanced solar training.
  • Those who forgo training have a high failure rate in this industry.
  • If you intend to work with grid-tie systems and you are not a licensed electrical or HVAC contractor, you’ll need to provide information about your electrical contractor partner in your dealer application.
  • Proper business status is necessary to become an AEE Solar dealer. Make sure you have all the appropriate licenses – contractor, resale, business – for your state or municipality. You will need to provide this information in your application.
